The value SUV, and it photographs better than its price
At PKR 15,000 the Fortuner sits PKR 1,000 under the Prado and PKR 10,000 under the Land Cruiser V8, and for most jobs it does the same work.
What it is right for
- The northern areas. Naran, Babusar, the Karakoram Highway, Swat. One of the three vehicles we will send up there.
- Seven people on a long trip, with the luggage in a roof carrier.
- Weddings, at a sensible price. It looks the part in a convoy for PKR 10,000 less than a Land Cruiser.
- Winter in the hills. Murree and the Galiyat in snow, with a driver assigned for it.
What it is wrong for
- City errands. It is large, thirsty and hard to park, and you buy the fuel.
- The motorway with four people. A sedan does that in comfort for a third of the rate and half the fuel.
- Seven adults plus seven bags inside the car. Ask about the roof carrier when you book.
Fortuner or Prado
For capability on a rough road, they are close enough that either is right. The Prado is the more comfortable interior and the more recognised badge, for PKR 1,000 more. If the trip is about the road, take either. If it is about the arrival, take the Prado.

How much is a Toyota Fortuner per day in Lahore?

Does it really seat seven?
