We checked 17 car rental operators in Lahore in August 2026. The rental day ran anywhere from 8 to 12 hours depending on the company. 1 of the 17 published an overtime rate. 1 of the 17 published a kilometre limit. None published a waiting policy. That is why an advertised daily rate in this city is not a price, and why ours is never quoted without the conditions attached to it.
We went further on the most transparent operator in the market and read all 45 pages of their site. They publish more than anyone else, and they still publish no kilometre limit, no charge for waiting beyond a free hour at the airport, and two different cancellation policies on two live pages. That is a decision rather than a gap. Journeys out of the city are priced per route rather than per day, because a day rate makes no sense across 375 kilometres. Two figures, because they are two different trips: one way means the car takes you there and the booking ends; return means the car and driver stay with you and bring you back the same day. Fuel, motorway tolls and the driver are inside both. Fares are for a Toyota Corolla, and larger vehicles run the same routes at the ratio of their daily rates. If a trip keeps the driver away overnight, the allowance of PKR 2,000 a night is added to the quote before you leave, never at the end.
