Who Pays for Fuel in a Lahore Car Rental?
Three fuel policies exist in this city and only one of them charges you for the fuel you actually used. Here is how to tell them apart.
You do, on a hire inside Lahore, and we bill it at cost against the fuel the car actually used rather than as a package or a per kilometre rate. Fuel is already inside our out of city route fares and airport fares, because those are fixed journeys with a known distance. The car is never handed over empty and you are never asked to fill it for the next customer.

How Lahore operators charge for petrol
At cost, against actual use
The driver refuels, keeps the receipt, and the fuel appears on your bill at the price on the pump. You pay for the petrol that went into the car and nothing else. This is ours. It is the only one of the three where the rental company makes nothing on fuel, which is also why it is the least common.
Full to full
The car is handed over full and must come back full. Clean in theory. In practice the car often does not arrive full, the gauge is not a measuring instrument, and the last fill before return is made in a hurry at whatever pump is nearest. Every unclosed gap in that chain is money that moves from you to the next hire.
A per kilometre fuel charge
A fixed rupee figure multiplied by the distance covered. This is the one to be careful with. It is not fuel, it is an estimate of fuel with a margin built into it, and the margin is invisible because you never see what the petrol actually cost. On a motorway run, where a sedan will beat its city consumption comfortably, you can pay well above what went in the tank.
The version that bills twice
A per kilometre fuel charge on top of a kilometre limit with a per kilometre excess charge. The same distance is now billed twice, once as fuel and once as mileage. It is published in this market. We removed the kilometre limit from our own pricing for exactly this reason, and there is a fuller explanation on the kilometre page.

What fuel actually costs on a Lahore day
Source. OGRA notified petroleum prices. Media outlets reported a further revision to PKR 384.34 for petrol effective 16 September 2026, which OGRA had not posted at the time we checked. We publish the figure from the authority's own notification and tell you the other exists, rather than picking whichever is convenient.

A journey with a known distance can be priced properly, so we do. These fares include the fuel and the motorway toll, and nothing is added for either afterwards.

This matters more than it sounds. A day rate on a long drive leaves the two most volatile lines on your bill open until the end of the trip. A fixed fare closes both before you leave Lahore.

Is fuel included in the rent a car price in Lahore?
Almost never on a daily hire, anywhere in this city. What varies is the mechanism. Ours is at cost against actual use. Others use full to full, or a per kilometre fuel charge, and both of those can quietly cost more than the petrol did.
Do I have to return the car with a full tank?
Not with us. Our driver refuels and the fuel appears on your bill at what it cost. A full to full policy on a car that did not arrive full is a small transfer of money from you to the next customer, every time.
What is a per kilometre fuel charge?
A fixed rupee figure per kilometre driven, meant to stand in for fuel. It is a fuel price with a margin inside it, and on a light footed drive on a motorway you will pay more than the petrol cost. We do not use one.
Is fuel included on a trip to Islamabad?
Yes. Out of city journeys are quoted as a fixed route fare with fuel and motorway tolls already inside the number, because the distance is known before you leave. Nothing is added afterwards for either.
