Out of city journeys are priced as fixed fares rather than day rates, because the distance is known before you leave. The fuel and the motorway toll are both inside the figure.

What is not inside it: an overnight driver allowance of PKR 2,000 if the trip keeps the driver away from Lahore, and waiting time at the far end beyond what was agreed. Both are quoted before you travel.
The road
M2 or GT Road
Sources. M2 corridor length from the motorway's published length; toll figure from the NHA revision reported on 6 July 2026. Any rate card that pairs the words motorway and 290 kilometres is quoting the GT Road distance for a motorway journey.
We take the M2 unless you ask otherwise. It is longer and it is faster, it is far easier on a driver who has to bring the car back, and the toll is already paid for in your fare.

Timing, stops and the return leg
Leaving Lahore
The motorway entrance at Thokar Niaz Baig is the usual start. From DHA or Cantt, add forty minutes of city driving before the clock even starts on the motorway, and rather more at eight in the morning.
Stops
Bhera is the standard halt, roughly halfway, and it is a reasonable one. Kallar Kahar is the other. On a return in a day we would rather stop twice briefly than once at length.
One way or return
A one way drop at PKR 18,000 means the car comes back empty, which is why it is not half the return fare. If you are staying more than a night, a one way each way is often the sensible structure, and we will say so rather than selling you a car sitting in a hotel car park.
Beyond Islamabad
Murree is about ninety minutes further on and has its own fare. The northern areas start from Islamabad rather than end there, and that is covered on the northern areas page.

How much is a car from Lahore to Islamabad?
PKR 18,000 one way and PKR 32,000 return with a driver, with fuel and the motorway toll already inside the fare. That is for a sedan; larger vehicles are quoted on the same basis.
How far is Lahore to Islamabad by motorway?
The M2 corridor is 375 kilometres and a routed journey measures about 383 kilometres door to door, taking roughly four and a half hours. The GT Road is about 290 kilometres but passes through towns and takes longer in practice.
Is the motorway toll included?
Yes. The National Highway Authority toll for a car on the full M2 is PKR 1,430, effective 5 July 2026. It is inside our fare and never added afterwards.
Is a return trip the same day possible?
It is about nine hours of driving before you have done anything at the other end. It is done, and we will quote it, but for a meeting in Islamabad an overnight is usually the better call and the driver allowance for it is PKR 2,000.
Which car should I take?
A Corolla, Yaris or City is entirely adequate on the M2 and uses materially less fuel than an SUV over 375 kilometres. Take the SUV if you are carrying six people or going on beyond Islamabad into the hills.
