Breakdown
What If the Rental Car Breaks Down in Lahore?
A mechanical failure is the company failing, not the customer. What that should mean in practice, inside the city and three hundred kilometres from it.
We send a replacement vehicle rather than refunding you and leaving you where you are. Inside Lahore that is usually under an hour. On an out of city trip we get you moving first and sort the vehicle afterwards, and you are not charged for the hours you lost or for the recovery. A breakdown is our operating cost, not a line on your bill.

A replacement, not a refund
A refund is what a company offers when it would rather end the relationship than solve the problem. It returns your money and leaves you exactly where the breakdown left you: on a road, late, with a plan that no longer works. On a wedding morning or an airport run it is worth less than nothing.

What published Lahore terms say instead
This is one of the few risk questions where a Lahore operator has actually written down a policy, and it is worth reading, because it is the opposite of the one above. From a published rental agreement in this city:
- The company is not bound to provide backup vehicles in case of mechanical failure, accidents or driver issues.
- An alternate vehicle may be provided if available, if the customer agrees to pay for fuel and toll taxes.
- Vehicle and driver replacement is only possible within Lahore, after investigating the cause, which may need several hours.
- Replacement is not possible for outstations.
- No compensation of any kind shall be given.
That is a clear, honest and internally consistent policy. It is also a policy under which a family whose van fails near Bhera on the way to Naran has no contractual claim to anything at all. We publish ours next to it so the difference is visible before the booking rather than after the failure.
Across the rest of the market the position is simply absent. Of 17 operators checked in August 2026, most offer a 24 hour support line and none commit to a replacement vehicle. A support line answers the phone. It does not arrive.
What reduces the chance in the first place
Match the vehicle to the road
Most intercity failures we see in this market are ordinary cars pushed onto roads they were not sent for. A sedan is right for a motorway and wrong for Babusar. If you tell us the real route, we will tell you the right vehicle, including when the right answer is more expensive than the one you asked for.
Say how long the day is
A vehicle doing 600 kilometres needs to have been prepared for 600 kilometres. A booking described as a day in Lahore that turns into a run to Multan and back is the most common way a rental car ends up on a hard shoulder.
Ask what happens if it fails, before you book
Not whether they have a support line. Ask what specifically happens if the car stops 200 kilometres from Lahore at nine at night. The answer tells you everything about how the company thinks. Related: what the northern roads demand.
Questions
Asked before booking
Will I get a replacement car if mine breaks down?
Yes, of the same class and at the same rate. Inside Lahore we aim to have another vehicle with you within the hour. That is a commitment about what we do, not a guarantee about traffic.
What if it breaks down on the motorway to Islamabad?
We get you moving first, by whatever route is fastest, and deal with the vehicle separately. The one thing we will not do is treat a refund as a solution to being stranded between Kallar Kahar and nowhere.
Am I charged for the time I lost?
No. You pay for the hire you actually got. Hours lost to our mechanical failure are not billable and neither is the overtime they pushed you into.
Who pays for recovery and towing?
We do, in every case, including outstation.
What about a flat tyre?
That is a stop, not a breakdown. The driver changes it and you carry on. If it costs you meaningful time we will not charge the overtime it created.
